Brad Armstrong (born Rodney Hopkins on September 23, 1965, in Toronto, Ontario) is a prominent Canadian director, producer, screenwriter, and former adult film actor. Known in the industry by monikers such as "The King of Porn" and "The Spielberg of Skin Directors," Armstrong gained significant recognition for his long-term association with Wicked Pictures, where he helped elevate the genre through high-production-value feature films that emphasized sophisticated storytelling, cinematic quality, and strong character development.
Before his success in adult entertainment, Armstrong studied commercial art and advertising in college and worked as a male stripper in Toronto for a decade. He transitioned into the adult film industry in the early 1990s, eventually amassing a prolific career that included directing more than 400 films. Over the course of his career, he earned widespread critical acclaim and numerous industry accolades, including 34 wins at the AVN Awards and an induction into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2004. He retired from the adult entertainment industry in 2021.
